WG Predictions/Goals/Wishes Update: February

Another month down, so it's time for another check on how my Where's George predictions, goals, and wishes are doing so far. I'm still making good progress on most of these, and I look forward to that continuing.

  • Predictions
    • 13.66 Bills Entered Per Day
      • I entered 361 bills in February for an average of 12.45 bills per day. This puts the yearly total to 796 and drops the daily average to 13.27. To hit this goal, I'll have to average 13.74 for the rest of the year. That's just slightly above the desired rate for the year, so I still expect to hit this one. The calculations below are assuming that I will still enter 5000 bills in 2012 even though I'm slightly behind of that pace.
    • 1231 Hits in 2012 / 4030 Overall Hits
      • I got 113 hits in February bringing the yearly total to 239 which is ahead of where I need to be for my 2012 goal. Including the new data from February, the hit prediction program from the original prediction post calculated that I'd get 1046 more hits in 2012. That would result in 1046 hits in 2012 and 1285 overall. Those numbers are up 21 hits from last month's recalculation. That increases my expected slugging percentage to 18.80%.
    • 1015 Additional Bills with Hits in 2012 / 3445 Overall Bills with Hits
      • Of the 113 hits, 91 were the initial hit on a bill putting my additional bills with hits in 2012 at 194. My pace towards this goal was slower in February than January, but I'm still ahead of where I need to be. Using the output from the prediction program and Excel, I obtained a calculation of 860 more bills with hits. That would result in 1054 in 2012 and 3484 overall. Those numbers are up 15 bills from last month's recalculation. That would put my expected hit rate at 16.04%
    • State Bingo Completion
      • Still no new States hit.
    • One Additional California County Hit in 2012 / 53 Counties Hit Overall
      • No new CA counties hit in February.
    • 17 Additional FRB Bingos / 57 FRB Bingos Overall
      • I'm up to 44 FRB bingos with the three additional completed in February. That puts me on pace for 24 in the year well ahead of the needed pace.
    • No More Than 13 Hitless Days
      • I again didn't have any hitless days this month, and so I haven't had any so far this year. That gives me a nice buffer for this goal for this year.
    • 80+ Day Hit Streak
      • Related to the above, my hit streak is now up to 64 days (since I carried a four day hit streak into 2012). Still a ways to go before meeting this goal, but this streak is starting to get into the "close" range.
  • Goals
    • National Rank Under 1000 in November & December
      • My rank was under 1000 for the last ten days of February. I'm not convinced that it won't bounce back above occasionally in March, but I would expect by November, I'll be solidly under.
    • State Rank Under 75
      • I haven't had my State rank get down to 75 yet, but there were five days in February where it was below 80 which was an improvement over the one day in January. I'm still optimistic about this goal.
    • $1s Making Up >87.29% of All Entries
      • I ended the month at 86.53% which puts me nearly a quarter of the way to the goal. I'm still thinking this one should be a slam dunk.
    • More Series 2009 Entries Than 2003A
      • Good progress was made toward this in February, but 2003A still leads 3650 to 1777. I'm slightly ahead of the pace needed to accomplish this, but it's too early to comfortably think I'm definitely going to cover it.
    • Decrease San Francisco "L" FRB Bills Below 50%
      • After making no progress in January, I made strides in February, and the San Francisco percentage is now down to 50.6%. I expect this progress to continue into the next few months, but I'll be interested to see if "L" bills stay below 50% after I stop the additional inserting of bills from my lowest FRBs.
    • Increase Percentage of Boston "A", Cleveland "D", St. Louis "H", Philadelphia "C", Minneapolis "I", and Kansas City "J" FRB Bills
      • My Cleveland and Kansas City currently met the goal for the year (although that can change), and my St. Louis entries are getting close. I have additional bills on hand for those and Boston plus some Philadelphia bills coming in the mail. So by the end of March, I should be making great progress on everything by Minneapolis (I'm still looking out for those bills). I think I may have gone overboard on working towards this goal (finding and entering an additional 200 of each), but it should help towards deversifying my entries.
    • 30 Zip Codes with 25+ Entries
      • No new zips with 25+ in February. I did enter five bills at my in-laws' house and will continue to do so when I visit until I hit 25 entries to get at least one new zip added to the list.
  • Wishes
    • 5 Hit Bill
      • I had one bill get it's fourth hit in February along with three that got their third and 18 that got their second. No five hit bill yet.
    • New Record Month for Hits
      • Completed in January. Not surpassed by February.
    • Surpass 500 2006 L-L $1 Entries
      • I'm now at 489 with 11 to go. I entered 2 more in February for 8 total this year. If I continue to enter 2 a month, I'll knock this one off in August.
    • Surpass 400 Entries with one 2009 FRB/Block Combo and 300 with Another
      • This wish is starting to look bleak. My top 2009 block is LB at 256 with 10 added in February and 21 overall for the year. That pace won't get me to 400. LG is second with 229 (18 in February; 64 in 2012). If that rate can continue, it'll get close to 400. Third is LF with 221 (6 in February; 26 in 2012). LF was second last month and appears to be falling off the radar. No other 2009 block has surpassed 200 entries yet.
    • Complete Non-Star Portions of Series 2003A and 2006 $1 Bingo
      • Three spots knocked off in February, all series 2006: DE, FQ, and GF. With 14 spots to go, and two of those being combos I haven't entered yet, I really don't think this one is going to happen. It was cool to make good progress this month though.
    • 4+ Year Active Bill
      • My 3rd and 8th longest active bills were last hit in February, however, neither was close to being active for 4 years. This record is more likley to fall in the second half of the year if it does.
